Black History Month Movie Screening - “PUNCH 9 FOR HAROLD WASHINGTON DOCUMENTARY FILM”
Back in 1983, “Come Alive October 5” was a voter registration movement that galvanized the citizens of Chicago. As a result, the city of Chicago elected Harold Washington as its first Black mayor. Black Students in Business is hosting a movie night to recount this pivotal moment not only for our city but also for our nation as well. Punch 9 For Harold Washington: In this epic film, director Joe Winston chronicles the rise, reign, and legacy of the city’s 51 st mayor, Harold Washington. During his tenure, Washington took on police brutality,
advocated for LGBT rights, and filled his administration with more female leaders than had ever been in the mayor's office prior. We would like to tell the mayor’s story by offering a FREE screening of the documentary.
