Breaking Barriers: Celebrating Black Entrepreneurship for Black History Month
Black Students in Business (BSIB) is proud to present the 2nd Annual "Break Barriers: Build More Black Businesses" Summit in honor of Black History Month. This event is more than just a series of gatherings—it is a powerful initiative to uplift and support Black entrepreneurs, students, and business leaders.
Throughout February, BSIB will host impactful events aimed at fostering education, networking, and economic empowerment within the Black community. From insightful panel discussions and hands-on workshops to an exciting pitch competition and a marketplace spotlighting Black-owned businesses, this summit is designed to equip the next generation of Black entrepreneurs with the tools and connections they need to succeed.
Black entrepreneurship is an essential pillar of economic growth, innovation, and community development. By continuing the legacy of Black business leaders who have paved the way, we strengthen our communities, break down barriers, and create lasting opportunities for future generations.

The mission of Black Students in Business is to support the diverse needs of the Black students in the College of Business at UIC.
OUR TEAM
Our organization is a small community of Black students at UIC School of Business. We aim to address the interests and needs of Black students in the College of Business Administration. Our leadership team consists of undergraduate and graduate students who are passionate about empowering and supporting our community.
GET INVOLVED
Education happens within the context of a larger community. Our approach extends beyond the school to help ensure students have the necessary support to do their best learning.
Although we are tailored towards the Black community, we invite people of all backgrounds and majors to join!
